Privacy Policy

Inday is privacy-first by design. Most of what you do happens entirely on your device — we never see it. This page explains what little we do collect, why, and how to control it.

The short version

• Your chats stay on your device. Conversations and uploaded documents are stored in your browser's local database (IndexedDB).
• We store your account. Email, display name, and school/class membership live in our Supabase database so you can sign in across devices.
• No tracking, no ads. We don't sell your data and we don't run third-party advertising trackers.
• You're in control. Delete your account or wipe local data any time from Settings.

What we collect

• Account data: email, display name, language, role (student / teacher / admin), and which classes or schools you belong to.
• Operational logs: minimal server logs (timestamp, request path, IP) kept for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
• Aggregated reliability telemetry: success/failure counts of on-device model downloads and offline session counts. No chat content. Schools can see this in their admin dashboard.

What we don't collect

• Your chat messages or AI responses.
• The contents of PDFs or images you upload to Inday.
• Behavioral profiles or cross-site tracking.

Where data is stored

Account data is stored on Supabase infrastructure within the EU. On-device data lives only in your browser or installed app — it never leaves the device unless you explicitly export it.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

• Access a copy of your account data — email privacy@inday.net.
• Correct or update information from Settings.
• Delete your account and associated server-side data.
• Clear local chats and documents from Settings → Storage.

If you're in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

When students use Inday through a school, the school is the data controller. Inday acts as a processor under the school's instructions. Schools can request deletion of any student record at any time.

Changes

We'll update this policy if our practices change and bump the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we'll notify you in-app or by email.
